With all of the puppies for sale across the country, why should you buy your new family member from Your New Puppy? We are most of all responsible breeders. We start with the best breeding stock. This does not necessarily mean “championship bloodlines”. We breed for family pets with good temperaments and excellent dispositions. Personality is what makes a puppy a good fit for your family. And this may be a pure-breed or a cross-breed puppy. We do not feel that “show quality” puppies necessarily mean a better puppy. And while there are plenty of show quality dogs that are also good family pets, show dogs are bred for specific conformation, not personality. We spend time with all our puppies from an early age. Puppies are very responsive to sounds and touch. We typically let mom do her job for the first 4 weeks, then we start to introduce the puppies to being held, talked to, noise of a radio, etc. We would rather their first weeks be spent in quiet time with their mothers so they get plenty of nurturing, warmth and nutrition.

Our vaccination schedule is more complete than almost any other breeder out there. We believe that a healthy puppy starts with being able to repel the most common puppy diseases. And while even vaccinated puppies are still at risk, the risk shrinks with every vaccine given. We use the same high quality and high titer vaccines that the vets use. Their shots are not stronger or better. At 4 weeks old, all puppies receive a Neo-Par brand Parvo vaccines. This is a single shot just to protect against Parvo, the leading killer of young puppies.  We have never had any adverse reactions with starting vaccines at 4 weeks old. We give a full 1cc shot to every little Chihuahua or Yorkie, as well as every Great Pyrenees. They receive an intra-nasal Bordetella vaccine to protect against Kennel Cough at 5 weeks old.  At 6 weeks old, all puppies receive a 5-way puppy booster. We use Vanguard Plus-5 by Pfizer. It has extra protection against Parvo and will override the mother’s immunity. At 8 weeks, they receive another Bordetella and a Parvo-Distemper booster. At 12 weeks, if they are still with us, we add Lepto to the 5-way boosters. We do not give Lepto to any puppy under 12 weeks old. We do not give Corona vaccines as we are not in an area of incidence. If you choose to give the Corona vaccine, wait until 12 weeks to do so. We give wormer every time we do shots. We rotate worming medications to give a broader coverage. We use Nemex-2, Pyrantel, Safeguard and/or topical Ivermec. Every puppy comes with a vaccination/worming chart that specifically indicates what shots were given and on what date. This schedule was dictated to us by a veterinarian and we have followed it without question or problem.

Not all of the puppies in our store are from our own kennel.   However, we do know exactly where every puppy comes from. All of our breeders are also friends and neighbors. All of our breeders are here in Ohio. We do not buy from out of state or from wholesale brokers. We have chosen certain breeders to add to our selection. This way we have control over the quality and health of the puppies we offer. We only deal with the best breeders who have the same ideals that we do. We all follow the same vaccination schedule, breeding code of ethics and puppy health guarantee. We guarantee every puppy, whether they are ours or not. That is how confident we are that our breeders are the best.

All of the puppies from Your New Puppy come with an extensive health guarantee. See the Health Guarantee page for a copy. We offer a 72 money-back guarantee for any severe health issue. We guarantee all puppies to be free of Parvo and Distemper for 10 days. And we will replace any puppy that is diagnosed with a severe hereditary defect for one year from date of birth.

We at Your New Puppy are always here to answer your questions and for support. We are not professional trainers, but we do have hands on experience with many breeds. What makes us different from other breeders is that we raise more than one breed. And while a breeder who raises Golden Retrievers can tell you every little detail about that one breed, chances are they can’t tell you much about the differences between a Golden and a Bichon and which may be better for you. Not every breed is compatible with every family, person or situation. But there is the right breed for every person. And only a knowledgeable person can guide you towards or away from certain breeds.
